I decided to try MARRIED TO THE WOLFMAN because I'm a sucker for wolf shifters. Sadly, it only turned out to be another example of practices which bother me about some self-published works and why they will continue, for better or for worse, to be viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism.

It would be an insult to call this a "story", much less a book. No matter how short or long, a story generally has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Granted, I wasn't expecting much but this is only an excerpt. Which makes sense because it turned out to be only 10 Kindle pages/screens (Amazon product page stated 21 pages), with the rest being more excerpts from the author's other works. If you want an actual story/book, you'll probably need to purchase "Collection of the Wolfman" for $6.99. See, it's the increasingly popular "bait-and-hook" tactic.

As for the "story" itself... Woman loves her sweet, loving husband but plans to leave him and her marriage because she can't sit down and tell him that he's been turning into a werewolf... but after one last night of hot sex.

Excuse me??? Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with a short story limited to sex scenes but that's insulting my intelligence as a reader. There's also no mention of how or why (even if it's speculation) her husband of many years is suddenly turning wolf.

The only positive I can find about MARRIED TO THE WOLFMAN is that it's well-written and cleanly formatted. But that's not enough to get me to fall for the "bait-and-hook". Due to principle as well as financial smarts, I would never pay $2.99 for 10 pages (c'mon, seriously?!?). Lots of erotica available for free on the internet these days.
